Popular “pit-bull” Edgar Davids might get back on football scene and as no less than a Leicester City member. Dutchman’s final decision is expected these days and everyone in Leicester are unanimous about getting this excellent player and winner of many trophies on their side.

The only problem might be the fact that “the flying Dutchman” didn’t have a club for over a year. He finished his last professional season in Ajax jersey and left the club in June 2008. Davids didn’t retire, but didn’t find a club, either, and his form is questionable, as well as his motivation to bite hard and help the Foxes get a chance for the big return to the Premiership.

Hull club officials had plenty of patience with boss Phil Brown over the last year or so, even though the Tigers kept underachieving, but they have finally decided to sack him if the team remain in the relegation zone after the next two rounds. Those of you who were insightful enough to place a bet on Brown to win the Premiership sack race are probably in for a nice betting bonus, while those of you thinking about doing that now should know the betting is suspended. Hull play Burnley away and Stoke at home in the next two rounds, and if Brown fail to win any of those, he will get the boot and rightly so.

Perhaps this decision comes at bad time, but the president must be obeyed. You can imagine the disappointment of United fans after the derby defeat to Liverpool but I am pretty sure the Carling Cup game against Barnsley put a smile on their faces. First team players Owen, Obertan, Evans and Brown proved they’ve got plenty to offer in team’s quest for trophies, but it is the youngsters that impressed me the most. Welbeck, Macheda, De Laet, Da Silva twins and Tosic showed the future was bright for the Old Trafford outfit.

French Ligue 1 have become one of the strongest leagues in Europe during the last few years and it is constantly justifying its reputation. Round 10 this season was supposed to bring us the biggest derby of French football but the OM-PSG derby was postponed because two PSG players had contracted the swine flu. We, nevertheless, saw some interesting matches and a couple of surprises as well, the biggest being Nice’s 4:1 win over mighty Lyon.
