German market is definitely not one of the richest in the world of football but regardless, you can’t say that one of the world’s best football leagues lacks quality players. Still, the money is the main satisfaction for almost all of the players and precisely that is the reason why most of top-class players decide to continue their career in one of the three richest football leagues, English, Spanish or Italian. In spite of this fact, you can see real masters of football in Bundesliga. Those players are not considered top-class which is why they don’t have big contracts.
The best example that the money is key of success is new German champion, Wolfsburg, as this club spent most money on new signings during summer and that investment paid off, having in mind that this is the biggest success in wolves’ history. The power engine in Wolfsburg squad was Bundesliga’s best attacking tandem Grafite-Dzeko, that set the record of 54 goals scored and they also managed to score over 20 goals each which is the first time in the history of the league. Edin Dzeko is officially the best player of the league, the first Bosnian to win this title in a foreign championship. Two seasons ago Dzeko, who already after the first part of the season in Bundesliga earned the title of the best striker, arrived to Wolfsburg on recommendation of Felix Magath from FK Teplice where he was the best striker of Czech championship. After a quite good season in which his club fought their way to UEFA Cup, Dzeko simply exploded in the second part of the next season and scored even 21 goals in 17 games. In the matches against Hoffenheim and Hannover, Dzeko managed to score two hat tricks in two weeks and we should also mention that he confirmed the excellent performance in the international jersey as well. He made his international debut a year ago in the match against Turkey where this sturdy striker scored a goal which was the turning point of the game in favour of his national squad. Dzeko is currently the top scorer in the qualifications for the World Cup in South Africa with seven goals scored and having in mind his excellent form, he definitely won’t stay on this number.
Besides Bundesliga best player, Bosnian national squad can also count on Zvjezdan Misimovic, Dzeko’s club colleague as well on the best striker in the first part of the season Vedad Ibisevic, who was, together with Sejad Salihovic
in Hoffenheim, this season’s sensation in Bundesliga.
Zvjezdan Misimovic changed several jerseys of Various Bundesliga clubs, Bayern, Bochum and Nurnberg, where he got relegated last season and after that was transferred for less than four million Euros to Wolfsburg where he got hold of the champion’s title. By the middle of last year Misimovic announced his retirement from the international squad, to focus completely on club football, but only few days later he denied that to help his country qualify for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Zvjezdan is one of the most creative players in Bundesliga as well as in Bosnian national squad that are on a good way of fighting their first performance on one of the big competitions.
