The only Bundesliga team from the capital of Germany got a new hero this season and a true leader, Serbian international, Gojko Kacar. Hertha struggled to beat Hannover in Bundesliga opening round at home and Gojko Kacar was the one to decide the game. After Marko Pantelic, also a Serbian international, left the club, Kacar continued to shake the opposite nets instead of him.
Hertha boss, Lucien Favre is known for his work with youngsters, so he rejuvenated the team in the last three seasons at the helm of the club and this recipe is showing slow but steady progress in Bundesliga and in Europe as well. During the preparation games, when Hertha won most of their rivals, midfielders, Kacar and Cicero excelled and managed to get on the score sheet in most of the games.
Kacar is young utility player and interestingly, many coaches didn’t fear to test him on each position in the team, while he repaid them in the best possible way. It is not so often that we see such a unique player in modern football and Gojko is certainly one of the best, which is why there are speculations that he has caught the eye of the best coach of all times Sir Alex Ferguson.
