The closing of the transfer window might be marked by the unexpected transfer of Serbian international, Gojko Kacar from Hertha to Stuttgart. German press says that Stuttgart are willing to pay fantastic 12 million Euros for the midfielder, but none of the interested parties were ready to confirm this.
„I have a valid contract with Hertha and the only thing I can say is that I am focused on the game in Copenhagen. My mind is clear, I am not thinking about what future may bring“ said Kacar.
The next few days can’t change the facts: Hertha are out of money and they need a forward. Stuttgart haven’t got financial problems, after selling Mario Gomez to Bayern, but during the transfer window they brought a midfielder similar to the young Serb.
He is truly an interesting player and we have an open spot for him, but I don’t think Hertha will give him up that easily. Our transfer policy doesn’t depend on the Champions League, though it would be much easier to realize it if we qualified for the group stage“ said Stuttgart sports director.
Berlin side scored two goals in the last two rounds, and each time Kacar was the beneficiary. Such start of the season caused Serb’s price to rise on the market and reveal all of the weaknesses in their strategy that lacks a real scorer. The money from selling Kacar would be enough to bring Andrei Voronin from Liverpool, who is worth 5 million Euros.
After only a year and a half Hertha got the confirmation that signing Kacar was an excellent investment. They signed a player from low-quality Serbian league for 3.5 million Euros, only to reveal an extraordinary talent already in first Bundesliga games. The best proof that Kacar is in for a bright future is that Manchester United’s scouts monitor him since the European championship and when they feel the right time they will offer even more than 12 million for his services.
