Shefki, go home!

Weird combination of trust and hate relation between Crystal Palace manager, Neil Warnock, and his Kosovo-born, Finland international, in-form striker, Shefki Kuqi, goes on and on. Despite Shefki’s fine form and goals he is scoring this season wearing a blue-red shirt, Warnock is not giving up on selling him in January.

The experienced old fox, Neil Warnock (who always speaks his mind) made an insulting joke on Shefki. After Southampton duel, where Shefki had scored a beautiful goal, Warnock said Shefki should replace his shirt’s number 32 with a “For Sale” sign. He insisted he would definitely sell this Finland international in January, despite his fine performances, goals and dedication wearing Eagles’ shirt, if a right buyer comes along. Warnock added that Shefki shouldn’t think he is a big footballer, because he would be no one then, but if he really was Shefki Kuqi and kept his head on the ground, than he would be a real menace and a huge threat to not only Championship, but also to some Premiership defenses.

Main reason why this striker needs to leave are his high payments. Also, this player who had his best of days playing for Ipswich and Blackburn has a problematic relationship with the fans that hadn’t forgotten the rude gesture in February this year. Shefki had been suspended at the time and had to give up a hefty amount of money for his rude behavior. Harsh Neil Warnock “threw” him on the transfer list and then loaned him to Ipswich at the end of season. Still, at the beginning of this one he came back with the Eagles because his key strikers (Alan Lee, James Scowcroft) had been injured, but then he truly showed his qualities – extreme commitment, strength, stamina, and certain amount of scoring abilities.

Shefki is holding on pretty well, keeping his mouth shut to these statements. He wants his performances to speak for himself. Still, it appears his home town of Vucitrn at Kosovo would suit him better than Neil Warnock’s patronage.
