There are some strange goings-on inside the walls of Loftus Road, home to one of the wealthiest football clubs in the world, Queens Park Rangers. Their top-scorer so far and one of the most talented young strikers in the league, Dexter Blackstock, was loaned to Nottingham Forest just in the time when the championship is about to cross the finish line with even-matched Coca Cola Championship outfits all fighting for either play-off or survival seats.
Although he started many of the games from the bench this season, both with Ian Dowie and Paulo Sousa , Blackstock has had a very successful season behind him. January transfer window and the arrival of Heidar Helguson from Bolton, who managed to score five goals before getting injured, didn’t upset him much. Portuguese football legend and QPR manager’s decision to loan Blackstock becomes even more unbelievable with Helguson out for the rest of the season which leaves QPR with Samuel Di Carmine, who is having a role of the “lonely ranger” in the attack, as the sole striker in the Hoops’ first XI.
Blackstock has been Loftus Road favorite for several seasons, he has never disappointed them, known as the “match-winner” scoring goals whenever most needed. He has reached the age when he would need more time on the pitch. Forest and their manager Billy Davies will definitely see their survival chances boost up with him on, leaving us still pondering upon QPR new owners’ crazy ways. After insufficiently successful season and minimal play-off chances, Bernie and Flavio are still only “rich bored kids who bought the club to kill the time…”
We will see what’s next…
