In the Premier League we have Arsenal and in the Coca Cola Championship – Southampton, with one major difference – results. Unlike the Gunners, Saints have been through some really nasty relegation fights over the last few seasons, but nevertheless, they just keep launching some new, talented players who quickly end up playing for some great, wealthy club.
Although this season also brought more troubles and defeats, Saints still have their recognizable style with a lot of young and talented players on the field such as midfielders Andrew Surman and Adam Lallana and strikers David McGoldrick and Bradley Wright-Phillips. Manager Ian Poortvliet is trying to form an attacking style full of technical, passing play, but his tactics are fruitless for now. Still, the ease, the beauty of Young Saints’ performances have caught an eye of the major outfits and the word is that Saints will fill in their budget with
fresh money in January selling their talented players who have all signed long-term deals with St Marry side this season.
Andy Surman himself is aware that the club with poor financial balance will need to sell in January in order to survive the cold days and that he is first on the list. The statements we hear from him and his teammates are totally expected saying that they are only thinking on their current club (yeah right), that they are still Saints’ players (yeah right), that those are only rumors (yeah right) etc. But we are sure that either Fulham or Stoke City who showed the most interest for this 22-year-old will get a great addition to their squad in January. Adam Lallana is 20 and is already being connected with the move to Tottenham, reportedly worth 5 mill pounds or Fulham whose offer has already been rejected in August which proved to be an excellent call since this fellow is now worth a lot more.
We just hope that these excellent midfielders will have the faith of all the players who had left Saints to make big careers in the last couple of years like Peter Crouch, Theo Walcott, Kenwyne Jones and of course still insufficiently proved Gareth Bale.
