Aiden McGeady is set to leave Celtic

The latest reports from Glasgow are suggesting that Aiden McGeady is set to leave Celtic after another intense argument with boss Gordon Strachan. It seems that Strachan doesn’t want McGeady in the team anymore, even though the young winger has to be given a lot of credit for Celtic’s recent success. Strachan will be doing a big favour to the host of European clubs that are interested in McGeady’s services and the Irish player could be the star of the January transfer window.

Strachan started this argument by heavily criticizing his star player after the draw with Hearts this weekend. It was not the first time that Strachan hits out at McGeady but it was the first time that the player hit back. Now his future remains in balance but only Celtic will be at loss if he leaves. The 22-year-old is one of the hottest prospects in Europe and he has been playing at a very high level for the last two or three years. He is great on either side of the pitch and can even play just behind the strikers. The Irishman is very quick and skillful and excellent in taking the defenders on. He can use either foot and that is a rare quality these days. McGeady has been Celtic’s best player for quite a while, which is why I simply cannot understand what Strachan has against him. His recent displays have attracted the attention of big European clubs, such as Bayern Munchen and Manchester United and he will have no problems finding the new club. He will be available at around £8 mil, which is the price that the big European clubs can easily afford.

Gordon Strachan has had a lot of success with Celtic but this is a big mistake. McGeady is destined for big things and I am sure Strachan will live to regret it. There are not so many players nowadays that can change the course of the match like Aiden McGeady and his skills and trickery are enough to make every defender worried. For the sake of Celtic, I just hope that Strachan will realize what he has done and that he will not repeat the same mistake.
