Tottenham fans must be thinking that their team is cursed since the club management, or should we say Daniel Levy, has spent a tremendous amount of money on new players in the last few years but they are still far away from breaking into the top four. The biggest flaw in this “master plan” was that the club did not have the patience to stick to the players they’d got and gradually reinforce the squad, but they kept buying and selling players like their lives depended on that. Tottenham have been looking much better since Harry Redknapp took over but it seems that Spurs are going to make the same mistake.
Harry Redknapp has singled out nine players he doesn’t want in the club and he intends to sell them and thus raise the money for new signings. Darren Bent, David Bentley, Tom Huddlestone, Heurelho Gomes, Gareth Bale, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Jermaine Jenas, Giovani Dos Santos and Vedran Corluka will all leave the club this summer, while talented Adel Taarabt and Didier Zokora are likely to do the same. This means that Spurs will enter another season with completely new team and they are unlikely to have a lot of success next term even if they bring some of the players they are chasing like Klaas Jan Huntelaar or Maxi Rodriguez.
The only way how this Redknapp’s idea could work is if he builds a new team after the impending clear out and then sticks with them for at least a couple of years, with maybe just one or two additions if needed. This is probably similar to something that experienced manager has planned but the question is whether the board will allow him to do this. Daniel Levy and his colleagues will start panicking on the first sign of trouble and they will not hesitate to sack ‘Arry. This is why Redknapp will have his work cut out for him, as he needs to keep the results at least respectable while at the same time building a team capable of challenging for honours in a year or two. This is going to be extremely difficult to do but I will reserve my judgment at least until I have seen Tottenham roster for the next season.

You are absolutely right. I don’ know why they spend to much money every season on players whose won’t leave hart on the pitch. I am only satisfy with Modric
