British radio station ‘TALKSPORT‘ announced that Argentine forward Carlos Tevez had signed a deal with Manchester City. This news comes after the long speculations regarding Tevez’s future and it seems that he has finally made a decision to join United’s fierce rivals. Player’s transfer to City is definitely not a done deal but the reports are suggesting that the transfer will be finalized within next week.
English media have been suggesting that out of all interested teams, only local rivals Manchester United and Manchester City stayed in the race to sign the Argentinean. Tevez’s loan deal with United expires on 30th June and a number of big European clubs was interested in acquiring his services, including Liverpool, who dropped out of the race due to the lack of funds.
‘Guardian‘, on the other hand, says that all this is a bit premature but they also state that diminutive forward, who even sought advice regarding his future from national team boss Maradona, is seriously considering the option of joining City.
City fans are probably delighted with the latest developments as Tevez is one of the players who can help take the club to a whole new level and if he were to join Citizens, few other great players would probably follow his example. The Argentine is extremely useful player as he is ruthless in front of goal, while at the same time he does a tremendous amount of work in defence. “El Apache” is probably fed up with waiting for his chance at Manchester United and joining City would be the prefect opportunity for him to get revenge on the Old Trafford outfit, even if it means having to put up with inevitable banter from United fans.
Anyhow, as the media in England suggest, Carlos Tevez will make his decision known after Argentina’s World Cup qualifier in Ecuador.
