Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has reinstated his desire to join Arsenal and criticized Les Girondins officials for asking too much money in order to let him go. Chamakh’s contract expires in year’s time and that is why asking price of £12 million seems a bit over the top.
Arsene Wenger had singled out Marouane Chamakh as the man to replace Emmanuel Adebayor even before the Togolese striker left the club, and the Bordeaux striker is also thought to be keen on the move to the Emirates. On the other hand, the Ligue 1 champions are holding out for £12 million and Chamakh feels that is too much.
“Joining Arsenal is my dream. My contract runs out very soon and it’s not fair that Bordeaux are asking so much money. “
Besides Chamakh, Arsene Wenger is thought to be keen on signing a defender, possibly Neven Subotic, whereas Patrick Vieira is being mentioned as a solution for the centre of the park. Arsenal fans are disappointed with club’s dealing in the transfer window and they are hoping ‘Le boss’ will manage to lure a couple of more players to the Emirates.
