Chelsea have been linked with numerous players since Carlo Ancelotti took over the reigns but the Blues are yet to make any big name signings. The fans are not satisfied with the lack of activity in the transfer market, but the latest reports suggest that Chelsea have finally decided to act.
The Blues have reportedly made a £70 million bid for Franck Ribery and even though the offer was rejected, the fans can at least rest assured that the club officials showed ambition. Chelsea seem to be losing the race to sign Pirlo, but they have offered cash-strapped Roma £20 million for Montenegrin striker Mirko Vucinic and that deal should be completed very soon.
Things are starting to look much better as captain John Terry is set to reject Manchester City, whereas the Blues are thought to be winning the race for one of the hottest prospects in Europe, Nemanja Matic. The Serb has attracted a lot of interest with his performances and the latest reports suggest he has already agreed a four-year contract with Chelsea, with his club Kosice entitled to around £5 million.
Considering that their Premiership rivals are likely to be weaker than last season, it looks as though the Blues have realized they had a good chance to finally clinch the league title and they are thus eager to further reinforce the squad.
