After bringing Barry, Santa Cruz and Tevez, Arab owners want to continue their spending spree. Next up are Adebayor and Terry, who will cost around £150 million, including their wage bills, but Sheikh Al Mansour is looking to spend another £150 million during this transfer window.
Upon completing the club takeover, Arab owners promised “patient approach and long-term project” in an attempt to turn City into one of the true European giants. We could see what this looks like in practice with a series of indecent proposals, few of which were accepted and players like Robinho, Tevez, Barry and Santa Cruz have arrived at Eastlands. However, that was just the beginning.
Before this transfer window closes, City are ready to spend another £300 million. Arsenal have already accepted their offer for Emmanuel Adebayor, who is set to cost Citizens £60 million (including his wages) for a five-year deal.
However, Sheikh Al Mansour is ready to pay even more for John Terry. If Chelsea captain agrees to make a switch to Eastlands, City will lose between £70 million and £100 million.
What is really scary is that they would still have around £150 million left.
