It’s been clear for quite a while that Andriy Shevchenko will leave Stamford Bridge this summer and even though the Ukrainian striker was linked with the return to Dynamo Kyiv, the latest reports are suggesting he could join Fenerbahce after all. Player’s manager is negotiating the transfer with Turkish giants but we are yet to see if Sheva will choose Fener over his Dynamo.
Italian media are suggesting that Fenerbahce have offered Chelsea €7 million for the veteran striker, with the Blues likely to accept the offer as Shevchenko’s contract is due to expire in year’s time. The player has been heavily linked with the return to Dynamo Kyiv but he has already admitted he would like to feel the famous atmosphere at Turkish grounds and therefore Istanbul now looks as the most likely destination.
Fenerbahce see him as the perfect replacement for want-away striker Danny Guiza and the Canaries are determined to build a team capable of winning Turkish Super Lig title.
Andriy Shevchenko seems to have forgotten that it is precisely at the Fenerbahce’s stadium that his career started taking the wrong turn. Sheva missed the penalty in the famous Champions League final against Liverpool that was played at Sukru Saracoglu in Istanbul, and he was never the same player after that.
