Young Manchester United keeper, Tom Heaton, will again get a chance to guard the net for Cardiff City where he came on loan. While you are reading this, you must know about his record at Emirates stadium against Arsenal in FA Cup, and young 22-year old keeper will certainly be one step closer to fulfilling his dream: to be the first Englishman, after many years, to leave his trace in front of the net of European and World champions.
Heaton started brightly this season in Cardiff, team that have an important role in Coca Cola Championship this season as well as in FA Cup. Manager Dave Jones gave him a chance before experienced Finnish player, Peter Enckelman, who was in the last few years, invincible in front of Bluebirds net. Heaton paid him back with excellent saves but he got injured in the match against Plymouth in November. Enckelman is back on the net and stayed there for much longer than Heaton’s recovery lasted. Cardiff’s results were great and Jones didn’t rush to bring young boy born in Chester back on the pitch. Enckelman was great, the time went by and young Tom was restless on Ninian Park bench.
And then Finnish keeper got injured and he will be away for minimum two months. Dimi Konstantopoulos was signed on loan from Coventry but he can’t play in FA Cup. That is why Heaton will definitely guard Cardiff’s net in the repeated match against Arsenal, and the rest is up to him.
If he succeeds to frustrate Van Percie and Adebajor, perhaps even Eduardo, Heaton will definitely cement his place in one of the best Championship teams. This will be a step towards his dream, but until then…
He must hold on the heat at Emirates… Good luck, Tom!
