We can’t see why Carlo Ancelotti insists so much on Pato? Young Brazilian wasn’t a regular starter in Milan, though he scored a lot and to give Drogba and cash for a not yet established football player is madness.
Ancelotti of course, sees Pato as a player capable of transforming from the midfield to attack and practically be the fifth player in the midfield, so the 4-5-1 formation can turn into the play with two forwards.
The ones of you who know about Italian football, probably remember that Ancelotti managed to do that with Kaka. Since he didn’t’ bring his best player, he wants another one with similar traits.
But, the price is too high. Regardless of his age, Drogba is in for at least, another two good years. He needs a serious coach he can trust, which was the main difference between Scolari and Hiddink.
Pato is someone who is yet to prove his quality and we are not sure that this is the player that will live up to the expectations right away. Some of you will say that Chelsea will get a player for the future, but Abramovich is not the kind of man that thinks like that. Ancelotti was hired to provide for instant success, first of all in the Champions League.
That is why such an exchange wouldn’t be wise for the team that wish to rectify what Norwegian referee denied them last time. Without Drogba, such project is doomed to failure.
His suspension also doesn’t mean a thing as it will last through the group stage, that Chelsea will go through, either way.
If he has money Roman should invest in a creative midfielder; someone like Pirlo would be the missing piece for Cheslea to handle Manchester United and barcelona.
Not to mention Real, as they are a cisrcus not a football club. You simply, can’t take them seriously.
