The reports in Italy are suggesting that Juventus is ready to offer want-away striker David Trezeguet to Manchester City in exchange for Brazilian Elano. Neither of the players is currently happy with where they are, which is why this deal could easily go through. David Trezeguet is not happy with his status in Turin and he wants to play on regular basis, whereas Elano is struggling to adapt to life in England and Juventus could really use his creativity.
David Trezeguet found himself behind Amauri, Iaquinta and Del Piero in the pecking order and no wonder that he is unhappy with his status. He’s got two more years left in his contract and it seems that Old Lady is ready to sell him but there are not too many clubs willing to pay a lot of money for veteran striker. Player’s agent, Antonio Caliendo claims that there are a lot of big European clubs interested in signing the striker and he had a meeting with Juventus officials to shed some light on the matter. There’s been no official statement after the meeting but the reports are suggesting that both parties are seriously considering the swap deal with Manchester City including Brazilian Elano.
The Brazilian, who arrived to City from Shakhtar, doesn’t really fit in Mark Hughes’ plans but regardless of that, he is still considered a first team regular in Brazil national team. Elano can play in almost any position in midfield and creativity is his biggest quality. Juventus officials assume that Elano would be happy to join Old Lady, since his friend from Santos, Diego has already signed a deal. The formidable trident Diego-Robinho-Elano helped Santos won several domestic trophies.
Juventus’ fierce rivals Inter are also interested in signing Elano.
