These are the two arguably most exciting players of football at the moment and they have a lot in common. Both are very young and exciting to watch, while at the same time they have quickly become key players in their respective teams. They will meet in Champions League final this season but these meetings could become more frequent if Ronaldo leaves Manchester United for Real Madrid at the end of the season. Even though they are both remarkable players, there can be only one who can take the coveted Ballon D’Or award, which is awarded to the best European player every calendar year. Even though there is still a lot of time until the winner is announced, I will try to give you my view on who has the upper hand at the moment. Ronaldo won the prize last year in front of Messi and maybe it is now payback time.
Ronaldo and Messi are both tricky forwards, who can play on the wing or in the more central role. They are excellent in taking defenders on, mostly due to their impressive technical skills but Barca’s forward seems to be in much better form this season. He has played at a very high level throughout the season, unlike Ronaldo who only shone in the late stages of Premier League and Champions League. The Portuguese forward have scored more goals than his rival in the last few years but he trails Messi by ten goals this season. When we take into the account that CR7 is taking all the free-kicks and penalties at Manchester United it is evident on who has the upper hand here.
It is in the shots from distance category that Ronaldo is superior to his Argentine counterpart and no wonder that he is scoring a lot of goals from outside the box. However, judging by how much they work for the team, it is more than clear that Messi is much more dedicated to the team’s cause than Ronnie, who is extremely selfish player. The Argentine makes his teammates better players with numerous assists, which cannot be said for Ronaldo, who only assists when he cannot try his shot. After playing excellent football over the last two seasons, the Portuguese have suffered a big dip in form this term and he is nowhere near the player he once was. Messi, on the other hand, are in impressive form for quite a while and he seems to have no problems keeping his performances at a very high level. The opinions are definitely divided between the football fans on who the best player is, but in my opinion, Messi is better than Ronaldo in almost every aspect of the game. I have no doubts that the Argentine is going to win this year’s Balon d’Or and probably the next few ones as well.

Ronaldo is a complete player and it’s better than Messi “per ansamble”. You are a Messi fan , you like Barcelona and want to win CHL
Am i wrong ? You can only tell these 2 players are equal.I quite dislike CR7 , but i can’t remark his quallities , and judge fairly the situation.
Ronaldo has heading and long shots , 2 primordial things that Messi doesn’t have at premium level. Messi has only ELITE tehnique & passing , and a very good game discipline and knowledge , and Ronaldo had them, he has genius pases as Messi , but he is quite selfish , not expremely as you told , he has 6 assists vs. Messi’s 11 , but Barcelona is an extremely passing-minded team , and the difference isn’t so remarkable to tell “extreme” etiquettes on players.
Messi is a different temperament , it’s very serious and dedicated more hard-working player , these are advantages of Argentinian, maybe this qualities would make them the best player in the world in the future years continously.
Primera’ goal rate via ESPN is 2.93 , EPL is 2.49 , these tell everything , EPL is the strongest championship in the world and you can compare EPL’s best scoring (18 goals) with Primera’s 4′th (23).I don’t talk about coups.
Ronaldo was quite poor in final chapters from CHL & EPL last seasons , this season in EPL & CHL , he scored magnifique goals @ Porto and in domestic league too, so these ain’t a good argue talking in this season.
Quite a good article , but a bit subjective and please don’t tell me that you want MUFC to win CHL because i would not belive you
. Keep up good work.
