According to “Berliner Kurier”, Manchester United are keen on Serbian utility player Gojko Kacar, who played very well at the Under 21 Euro in Sweden. The reports are suggesting that Hertha could be forced to sell him in order to solve difficult financial situation, but several Italian clubs are also in the race.
As “Berliner Kurier” states, Manchester United are ready to offer around €12 million for Kacar, who is seen as the perfect replacement for Paul Scholes. The 22-year-old is very versatile player, who can basically fill any role on the pitch except for goalkeeper, although I am pretty sure he would do well even in goal. He is mostly used as defensive midfielder but is very competent as centre-back, and is basically the type of player every coach could wish for. He works really hard for the team wherever he plays and is extremely strong in duels, which is an absolute must for any footballer eager to play in the Premiership. Kacar is a great header of the ball which makes him a big threat from set-pieces, whereas his forward runs are extremely dangerous for opposition defences.
Even though Hertha are reluctant to sell, the club are in very poor financial situation and they could be forced to sell Kacar, especially since he is the only player in the team who attracts heavy interest from other clubs. Hertha have rejected Fiorentina’s offer for the Serbian player last winter, but Lazio have also joined the race and they are ready to pay €8 million.
We are yet to see how this transfer story will unravel, but it seems that Gojko Kacar, who is already a regular in the Serbian national team, is likely to leave his current club this summer. In my opinion, Kacar is one of the hottest prospects in Europe at the moment and I rate him as a future world-class player, thus Manchester United will certainly not make a mistake if they opt to bring him to Old Trafford.
