The Romans declined the initial bid from Manchester United for the Montenegrin player, but the question is how they will act if United up the bid. Roma, who are in big financial problems, would have no problems selling Vucinic for €25 or €30 million. If that happens, Andriy Shevchenko would probably join Roma.
Sporting director Prade stated that the initial bid Manchester United made for Vucinic was too low. United tested Roma’s resolve with a bid of €18 million, but they are ready to make an offer in the range between €25 and €30 million for the captain of Montenegro national team.
It is still unknown whether Roma will accept the offer, but reports from Italy suggest that the club are already searching for Vucinic’s replacement. If the striker moves to Manchester United, Andriy Shevchenko will arrive to The Eternal City.
The Ukrainian will have to take a cut on his shamelessly high wage, but it seems that he is ready to do that in order to save his career and continue playing football at the top level.
As far as offers for other Roma players are concerned, apart from Totti, there is only one indispensable player and that is Daniele De Rossi, who is expected to take over the captain’s armband from the ‘Prince of Rome’.
