Defending Serie A Champions Inter are flying high with six points ahead of Juventus and no one seems able to stop them. Fantastic eight-game domestic winning run with 31 goals in 17 games is a stunning result and and who is to be congratulated for this success? Jose Mourinho? Not likely…
When you have so many super-stars in your squad you don’t need to be an expert to make success. All you need is to provide proper guidance and Mourinho is really the right man for such work. One player seems to be particularly happy with Jose’s guidance and motivation having done wanders this season.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored ten times in Serie A this season, none of the goals were penalties and the Super Swede has really been a one man show in the attack for most of the campaign. Towering striker has always been sort of renegade with the will of his own but his talismanic, mesmerizing performances compensate for his faults. People either adore him or hate him but no one is left indifferent when he runs on the turf. His goals have often solved the games, his breathtaking moves, scissor kicks, heels, close range or long-distance shots leave the crowd speechless… he is the man you definitely want to have in your squad and to build your game around him.
That is exactly what Mourinho is trying to do this season. His favored 4-3-3 was scrapped when he realized that neither the formation nor his summer signings Quaresma and Mancini were able to be the right partners for Zlatan. Other strikers are not even worth mentioning…apart from maybe Julio Cruz who gave so much to this club in the past. The grandpa Hernan Crespo, Victor Obina, Mario Ballotelli have all been overshadowed by the Ibracadabra. Potential suitable partner for him, drunkard Adriano, could’ve made a lethal combination with the Swede, but he has a real problem and needs to be treated very seriously.
With Adriano, Balotelli and Crespo possibly on their way out of the club, permanently or temporarily,
Inter will set off on a search for the attacking-partner for Zlatan in January transfer window. There is an open debate about the perfect partner and several names have already been guessed upon.
Didier Drogba ?
Mourinho’s fascination with Didier Drogba is well known fact, they have a great deal of respect for one another and are indeed a winning pair. But, Drogba and Ibra are similar players and might not work well together.
Carlos Tevez?
Unsettled Carlos’ future at Old Trafford is very uncertain, his loan agreements ends in June and United appear reluctant to make a move permanent. The two magicians would make a perfect couple and the tireless Teves would make Ibra’s efforts more effective.
A lot more aces are in the combination but to be honest these rumors and guesses really tire me. Mourinho might never really consider signing none of them but all we ever do is dwell on it so thoroughly. One thing I might say freely is that ‘Ibra the magician’ doesn’t need a partner in attack. All he needs is the right deliverer, someone to support him and give him the right balls. Everything else is up to him. Sit back and enjoy the ride…
