Excitement rises before the Sunday match as Pompey and Spurs meet in what is going to be an electrifying clash! We have already said a lot about Harry Hedknapp and his controversial swoop, and he is now not the only one to quit on Portsmouth without the slightest regard. Alas, we are all professionals, there is no time to get emotional and we wouldn’t expect people to hold grudge against Jermaine Defoe for joining his boss Harry and leaving Pompey.
Still, it is not easy to forget what the duo did to Portsmouth fans and they will not be quiet about it…
Pompey keeper and one of the most experienced players on board who is known to always speak his mind, David James has urged Portsmouth fans to make noise and give Tottenham pair cloudbursts on Sunday. Keeper feels that fans are entitled to express their opinion and that they have e very right to dish out as long as it stays within the law.
James said: “As long as it’s not racist or homophobic – it’s all right.”
Since both striker and coach left Portsmouth this season, wounds are still fresh and it seems that James hopes the fans to give a heel of a round to the duo in order to help his team win this important game. When you can win at the turf…try the terraces…
We also know what the fans are capable of making and we can’t wait for Sunday to see what is going to happen. “There is an equal and opposite reaction to every action and any fans involved in indecent chanting will be dealt with something that hurts the most – lifetime ban”, Pompey officials are trying to keep things down, but we will see about that..
