Football is the game we all love and they don’t call it ‘The Beautiful Game’ for nothing. Football governing bodies are calling for all the participants to respect the referees and to respect the competitions by not fielding weakened teams in Cup games, but in this article we would like to voice our support to Respect The Fans Campaign.
This campaign has been organized in an attempt to protect the fans and to give them what their rightfully deserve. We all know that football would not exist without the fans and that is why we want to give our full support to this campaign.
Every season 16 league clubs will play a major game at Wembley and most of the clubs and their fans experience problems with the FA on poor allocation of tickets. We are talking here about true football fans that follow their team everywhere they go, but they often miss out on the chance to watch their team play at the national stadium in the biggest game of the season.
It is really inexplicable how up to 23000 tickets can be awarded to sponsors and people who have absolutely no interest in the game, and what is even more worrying is that these tickets eventually find their way to the fans whom they should have been given to in the first place, only via inflated prices. If the tickets will be taken up by fans anyway, then the FA should cut out this middleman and supply the tickets directly.
The Respect Campaign is calling for the FA to introduce fairer allocation policy and to value true football fans rather than the people without any interest in the game. This campaign is essentially organized to give more respect to the life blood of English football, the fans.
