The transfer saga involving Carlos Tevez is set to end on Monday, when the Argentine forward will be officially unveiled at Manchester City. A source close to Tevez revealed that the played had wanted to join Chelsea but his family and agents made him stay in Manchester. The main reason behind his transfer to City is money, even though the player wanted to play in the Champions League and fight for the Premiership title.
We finally know the whole story behind Tevez’s move to Manchester City. The Argentine will sign for the Citizens on Monday, on the same day when Cristiano Ronaldo will be unveiled at Real.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Real and Inter were all interested in his signature but Tevez chose City only because of money. He wanted to stay in England and if it was up to him, Tevez would probably pick Chelsea. However, his close family wanted him to stay in Manchester, where they had already made friends, whereas the financial side of the deal was crucial for the agents and player’s numerous family, who talked him into joining City, since it was ‘the offer of a lifetime’.
In the end, Tevez made up his mind and chose City, with the Eastlands club set to pay MSI agency, who owns player’s rights, around £30 million. The Argentine striker is now set to embark on a new chapter in his career, and we are yet to see if it will be a successful one.
