Tottenham step in the chase for Milito?

Argentine Diego Milito could easily become one of the major stars in the next transfer window. Inter were willing to bring him in January, but Genoa who are fighting for Champions League entry didn’t even want to talk about it. He is the idol in Genoa, fans worship him, couple of years ago he earned a nickname “Il Principe” (Prince) due to his easy goal-scoring in the season of Genoa’s promotion to Serie A. However, Grifo didn’t have the chance to play in elite competition since they were suspended for fixing a game with Venezia. That is why Milito was sold to Zaragoza, and in the closing hours of last summer’s transfer window he had returned to the biggest Italian port. He was welcomed with red carpet, looked upon as a deity, and he repaid the fans’ support with a real goals galore over the autumn. Without a slightest doubt, Argenite is the most responsible for Genoa’s Champions League seat. That would be the biggest success in club’s history.

Anyhow, Genoa will hardly be able to keep their player in. Chairman Preziosi cannot guarantee that Argentine’s wages will be increased and he might be forced to sell him. And now, Tottenham have appeared out of nowhere and stepped into a chase hoping to beat Inter. Namely, young, Aquafresca is returning to Inter and he is a similar type of a player, while their first target this summer will be Didier Drogba.

Spurs are with enough funds to meet all of the Genoa demands and no wonder sir Harry Redknapp was seen at Genoa – Udinese fixture last weekend. Home side won 2-0, Milito scored a goal and will be the key player of the team in their dogfight for place four against Roma and Fiorentina.
