Barcelona’s future is bright

Lionel Messi was the first to speak of how the departures of Deco and Ronaldinho have affected the team this season. Messi stated that even though these two were very good players, now the team’s style of play has changed and all the players are seeing more of the ball rather than just waiting for Deco and Dinho to work their magic. Barcelona is now at the new start with a very talented team. The management decided to appoint also very young but talented Guardiola to be the new coach, as he knows how the things work at Barca and Pep will be of great help for the younger players. The team now consists mostly of the players from Barca’s youth academy, which is very rare at such a high level but it is also a great basis for success.

The team now has no stars and all the players are considered part of the team, and Guardiola has managed to create a very healthy atmosphere. Players like Messi, Krkić, Pique and Busquets are the future of Barcelona, while Xavi, Pujol and Valdes still have a lot to offer. Together with few foreign players like Eto’o, Hleb and Alves among others, they make a formidable squad. Maybe you noticed that I failed to mention one player, who has already shown tremendous amount of potential and that is Andres Iniesta.

Messi was surprised not to see Iniesta in the list for the Balon D’Or this season and I totally agree. Iniesta is the biggest potential of Spanish football and maybe potential is not the right word as he is already a World class player and regular in both Barca and Spanish national team. The midfielder has outstanding technique and excellent eye for the pass, while he is also very versatile and can play in all the midfield positions. He is not the sort of player who is eager for the fans to like him and he wants to concentrate on playing football rather than shooting commercials like Ronaldinho. I am convinced that he is already much better player than the Brazilian and he will feature heavily in Barcelona’s success in the following years.
