Frank Ribery – I don’t have enough support!

After a couple of disappointing results in the Bundes Liga, such as home loss to Koln, below par draw with Werder on Sunday or mid-week German Cup elimination to Leverkusen, the reigning German champions Bayern Munich are lying fifth in the table, the ship is obviously sinking, and it seems that some players have a thing or two to object…and, of course, our old friend Scarface, who else, had some things to say…

After that episode in Dubai, rally-driver Frank Ribery looks unsettled and always gives me an impression of a dissatisfied man…even before the season started, French star left all of his options open claiming he couldn’t promise a long-term commitment to German champions and, in a situation when his team is playing below expectations, Frank’s manager recently suggested his protégée could be set for a move to Spanish champions Barcelona.

Frank Ribery has always had a funny way of expressing his dissatisfaction, and the latest was a pile of public criticism towards his teammates and their on-pitch tactics. Namely, after that draw with Werder, Frank complained to Jurgen Klinsmann about the fact he never had enough support when he wanted to attack on the left side. But what he really wanted to say was “I don’t like it here anymore”.

He is the team’s brightest star, world-class player who wants to play in a team that could meet his aspirations. The main thing still keeping him in Bayern is their European campaign since, after Ribery’s brace in 5-0 win over Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, German team looks very likely to progress to the  Champions League quarter-finals which is the only thing apparently to save the season.

Bayern officials are dazzled, Beckenbauer is deeply affected, feeling as if Frank is holding a gun to his club’s head and he is aware that they couldn’t do anything without him, but having him in is not a walk in the park either…well Frank, be a man and shut up, stick it and help your team get the best out of the season!

After that, get in the bus and hit the road, no one likes pampered players mate…
