Myth about big Real will be busted very soon. Star signings, football without any organization, marketing effect deprived of competitive approach, aggressive appearance and great expectations led to the end of Galacticos 1. The second version won’t fare any better.
To sum it up, Florentino Perez bought Kaka and Ronaldo. He will sign Villa, maybe Ribery. He’s got Raul, who is just like Mona Lisa. There are nicer paintings but this one is eternal.
I have always found this Galacticos theory ridiculous, since they failed to win any trophies for four years, whereas even the weakest teams in Primera had no problems beating them at Bernabeu. Then people at Real started claiming that beauty of football is what is important.
The same euphoria is being created at the moment, although sporting director Valdano claims that things will be different.
Who will do the running?
Will Pellegrini suddenly change his approach to the game and start playing with four strikers? I don’t know if you have ever watched Villarreal play; that looked like everything but the desire to entertain.
The tactics where Real will attack with eight players and defend with two is bound to fail. This is as clear as the fact that the Sun will rise tomorrow.
To expect from Kaka and Ronaldo to sacrifice for the team is ridiculous. Their ego is as big as Bernabeu itself. If you have more than three Brazilians or Portuguese in the team, you will inevitably have dressing room unrest.
This is not the question of quality of defenders. Galacticos 1 brought Valter Samuel when he was at his best, but they almost ruined his career. This is about the system of play, which is something that one doesn’t get when he buys two Balon d’Or winners. Football is not about making the ideal team, but rather about putting the pieces of the puzzle. When you spend 200 million euros on two players, and at the same time you have absolutely no ideas who will patch all the wholes in the team, it is obvious that marketing possibilities are more important than the results.
Real’s obsession to match Barcelona, who dominated last season, leads them to the wrong trail as success cannot be bought by choosing the president with strong financial guarantees. Big part of Barca’s team grew up in the youth academy, whereas Real is a group of mercenaries with no identity.
The autumn will come soon, when during the Sunday afternoon in Pamplona or Bilbao, the legs of the legionnaires will feel the envy of the home players who earn in a year what Ronaldo earns in two weeks and then will you know what I am talking about.
But, in the end it doesn’t really matter. Real will be first…in the number of sold jerseys.

i read this article and all i understood is that the writer is wishing for this team to fail even before starting it’s build up….i can see that the writer was totally not objective in dooming the new madrid to fail simply because the first galactico era failed….i think it is totally biased to say that when they only got 2 players so far and yet we haven’t seen what the team actually will look like before the first league match…..
i have been reading a lot about the same issue all over the net since perez came back to the team….well to be honest i was very skeptic about him cuz his fault doings that caused the calderon disaster to the team….but he is back and yes he has the same policy of signing the super stars from all over the glob…but the question will be did he learn from his past mistakes or not??? did he learn that casting a certain makelele did actually disrupt the whole team or not????
and the most important thing is that did he really learn that a good defense is the key to a good attack or not???
well i certainly hope he did learn, and i hope when i look at the team in july when they start there trainings that the team is actually very good and very well balanced….then we can see what we can comment at that time…
finally i mean no disrespect but i think most of the people how support the english teams ,mainly and barcelona they just want them to fail cuz they know what a powerful madrid means….i hope people start to say what is now and not predict what will happen in january….may be they will fail but may be they will succeed…remember that Barcelona mighty team they were very normal in the first month of La Liga….then they exploded…can we try to give Madrid the same time and then judge????
