Some of Manchester United scouts believe to have found a proper replacement for Scholes and, reportedly, he is Banfield’s excellent Nicolas Bertolo. Bartolo is ready to pack his bags for a trip to Europe and his club is willing to listen all offers looking for a hefty sum.
Who is Nicolas Bertolo?
First move towards this boy was made by Lazio and although this club is in excellent terms with Bertolo’s agents (who brought the keeper, Carrizo) it was estimated the Italians do not have enough financial stability to satisfy both Banfield and the player.
Bertolo also played for Boca, they sold him for a pocket money and his price has been significantly increased since. Reportedly, the initial price was a couple of million Euros, but now is a much higher. He is a restless, tireless midfielder who boasts an excellent shot. He can play behind the strikers but can also be deployed in defense. Red Devils observed him a number of times, but haven’t come up with an offer yet.
Argentine’ contract is partially owned by Boca, but we assume that most popular club in this country will not mind earning few dimes on a player they let go to Banfield to early.
Bertolo possesses Italian passport, he has scored eight goals in 22 games he played for Banfield, and it is interesting he even spent some part of a last season playing in Uruguay.
The player himself is unaware of Manchester interest, but is eager to move to Europe as quickly as possible, reckoning that football career is too short and that each given chance to play for the greatest European club is not to be missed.
