I am sure that all soccer lovers will know the name of Danko Lazovic who is currently playing for Dutch team, this season underachieving, PSV. But no, this wasn’t a typing error, we are here talking about another player, youngster Darko Lazovic.
This 18-year-old is currently playing for Serbian outfit Borac Cacak (29 performances, 5 goals), but has brought a lot of attention on him during the past few months and some of the major European clubs are asking about him.
Born on 15th September, 1990, and still a member of Serbian U-19 team, Darko is playing as midfielder and is indeed a great talent. Brilliant performances for his club have even earned him a call-up from Radomir Antic, Serbian manager in charge of the senior national team, who is an experienced coach with great eye for a real talent and he has thus given credit for this young midfielder for his brilliant performances in the first part of the season in Serbian Super Liga which will definitely have been a huge boost for the lad.
Namely, this youngster spent some time with German outfit Hertha on their winter preparations in Spain and was very close to signing a deal, but Borac Cacak’s sport director said at the time that nothing was over yet since there were other clubs following and asking for Darko, some of which were from England and Scotland. And it appears that the man wasn’t lying…a respected TV station from Serbia, B92, reports that Darko Lazovic spent seven days training with English Tottenham. The whole matter was held secret, but Tottenhem appear to be happy with what they’ve seen from this lad during his seven-day trial and it is now only up to Darko to decide for his own future.
Having already discarded interests from Serbian clubs, this 18-year-old appears to have set his mind on going abroad and we expect to hear more, lot more, about this boy this summer…
