Who is Marc Janko?

A bunch of goals in the league such as Austrian doesn’t make you a phenomenon, but anyway, Salzburg’s explosive scorer is the topic of the day in Europe. Although he has recently signed a contract with Red Bull, he will probably leave Austria by the end of this year as he has grown past the football quality in his country.

Also, the media believe that the national squad will profit most if Janko moves to a better league where he can progress and be more useful in the national squad, as he and talented Arnautovic are expected to do big things in the future.

Marc Janko is 26 years old and he simply exploded this season, having scored 32 goals including five hat tricks. This is a strong and towering player who can’t wait to play in English leagues, even though he negotiated with Celtic this summer.

According to him, Tottenham is his favourite club and he believes that he might be just the right replacement for Pavlychenko, if the Russian leaves White Heart Lane. Blackburn and Everton have also set their eye on him.

Marc is the son of Eva Janko, former javelin-throw champion. This 196cm high young man takes after his parents.

He played in Admira Wacker before moving to Salzburg. He was the player of the year in Austria, many clubs already tested Salzburg’s willingness to let him go. His price is nine million Euros; Janko already has gained enough international experience playing for Red Bull in Europe, and also for Austrian national squad.

As he himself admits, fast and dynamic football suits him best, open play, as well as the actions on the flanks and crosses where his strength and height serve him best. For a players nearly two metres tall, he moves great across the pitch and though his technique is not perfect, he is extremely fast.

He will leave Austria this summer, that’s for sure, and aside from England he will also consider going to Germany. The problem is that not many Bundesliga team have enough money to buy him.
