Milan have been looking for ways to spend part of the money from Kaka sale on new players but Rossoneri are yet to attract a big name signing. After failing to lure Edin Dzeko and Luis Fabiano to San Siro, it seems that Silvio Berlusconi has no other choice but to rely on Ronaldinho.
The fans are furious with club management for the lack of activity in the transfer market and they fear that Milan do not have the team capable of challenging for the title. Kaka’s departure has left a big gap to fill, and considering that Andrea Pirlo is on the verge of joining Chelsea, new boss Leonardo will be in serious problems. Desperate times call for desperate measures and Silvio Berlusconi is ready to give another chance to Ronaldinho, who failed to make his presence known last season.
“He (Ronaldinho) has got to be phenomenal this season and needs to take the responsibility, because we were forced to sell (Kaka).”
“However, this transfer creates space for Ronaldinho and everybody at the club wants this to be his season”, stated Berlusconi.
Berlusconi also said that Fabiano was unlikely to join Milan and that Rossoneri would rely on younger players next season.
It looks as though he’s got no other options but to stick with the players currently at the club, but it means that Milan will struggle to repeat the third place finish from last season. If Andrea Pirlo leaves the club, Berlusconi will have a lot of explaining to do.
