Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko has been one of the hottest targets in this transfer window after scoring 36 goals for Wolves last season and a number of big European clubs were keeping tabs on Bosnian striker. The player has stated that his dream was to play for Milan, but that Wolfsburg would have the final say. Rossoneri were thought to be on the verge of signing a player but the recent developments suggest that Dzeko will stay in Germany at least for another season.
The Bosnian striker also stated that he intended to meet with club officials and newly appointed coach Armin Veh in order to discuss his future. It seems that the new boss is not ready to let the player leave and he ended all the speculations during his first ever press conference as Wolfsburg coach.
“We have decided to keep Dzeko. We have a very strong team and cannot allow such a good player to leave. We have made that decision and will stick by it. “
Milan contacted Wolfsburg’s representatives few weeks ago and Galliani even met with player’s representative in Sarajevo. The Italians are keen on signing Bosnian striker, who scored 36 goals in 42 games last season, but the problem is thought to be Wolfsburg’s asking price of €30 million, which is more than Milan are willing to pay.
