Inter officials are very busy lately as a number of Inter players is being linked with big European clubs, while at the same time the club are looking to reinforce the squad by singing new players. Considering that both Maicon and Maxwell are likely to leave the club this summer, Jose Mourinho has set his sights on Lazio full-back Aleksandar Kolarov, who has impressed while playing for Biancocelesti last season.
Corriere dello Sport states that Inter are interested in signing Aleksandar Kolarov. What is this all about?
According to the Italian newspaper, if Maicon and Maxwell, who play on the wings in defence, leave Inter, the club could start a search for their replacements. Jose Mourinho would in that case shift talented Davide Santon to his original position on the right, whereas the left-back position would be reserved for Kolarov.
The Serbian player has earned a starting berth at Lazio and he largely impressed in his second season at the club. He is very strong, attacking full-back, with a thunder in his left foot, which makes him a big threat for set-pieces. Inter haven’t had a good set-piece taker ever since Sinisa Mihajlovic retired from football and his compatriot Kolarov can definitely contribute a lot to this part of the game.
Juventus have already expressed interest in signing the player but president Lotito refused to speak on this matter. However, Inter are better equipped for ‘persuasion’ than Juve. Moratti is unlikely to have any problems offering enough money plus some of his players to meet Lazio’s asking price, whereas Lotito is not in the situation to reject a possible hefty offer.
