Serbian international, Zdravko Kuzmanovic signed the contract with Stuttgart that finished last season third in Bundesliga, thus reserving a place in Champions League group G. After the club’s attempts to sign Gojko Kacar from Hertha failed, so they decided to bring another Serb from Fiorentina, who plays on the same position. Kuzmanovic played in the Champions League last season and this experience will definitely help the club make it to the next round.
According to Italian and German press, this transfer is worth 8 million Euros, but no one knows for sure how long will former Fiorentina player stay in the team. Serbian international has most likely signed a four-year contract with Stuttgart, so he will most likely stay in Bundesliga till 2013.
Kuzmanovic wanted to leave Fiorentina, as coach Cesare Prandelli mentioned on several occasions that he can’t guarantee him a place in the purple A squad, because Cristiano Zanetti came from Juventus and Fiorentina had to change the formation.
This feisty, 21-year old midfielder has caught the eye of Spanish clubs like Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, as well as Lazio from Italy.
Kuzmanovic, born in Swiss town, Thun, played in Dürrenast, Young Boys, while his professional career started in Basel, from where he moved to Fiorentina in 2007. The same year was his debut in Serbian national squad and he has made 20 caps since and scored two goals. In purple team he made 70 caps and scored three goals.
German press said that Zdravko comes from a real football family, since both his father and grandfather played for Zvijezda from Gradacac.
