New target of Real Madrid – Hernan Crespo?

After catastrophic results in Coppa del Rey and elimination from the competition, the pressure is mounting on Bernd Schuster’s back. Not only bad results give him headaches these days. The alarm bells are on and next match against Valladolid could decide Schuster’s future.

Huge injury list is another big problem for German strategist, but news about Ruud Van Nistelrooy injury makes him even more worried. The best goalscorer in the season 2006/2007, who scored 45 goals in Primera and 60 in Champions League, will be out for more then six months due to right knee surgery. He picked up injury in the Champions League match against Juventus and another surgery is necessary. The first one was made during 2000. before Dutchman joined Manchester from PSV.

After they failed to sign Cristiano Ronaldo during the summer transfer window and sold Robinho to Manchester City, Real Madrid will hunt some huge acquisitions during January transfer window. Hernan Crespo from Inter Milan will be their main target. Thirty three-year-old Argentinean striker is a fringe player in Inter, after new manager Jose Murinho came to the club. He is far from  satisfied with his current status and obviously it could be great deal for all three sides.

Besides Crespo there is a huge list of names linked with Real Madrid these days. Some of them are Carlos Tevez, (but it is hard to believe that Man United and Real could make this deal after all that happened with Cristiano Ronaldo), Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Diego Millito, Mario Gomez from Stuttgart, and CSKA Moscow man Vagner Love.

There are a lot of speculations about Andrei Archavin who could come on a loan deal in January. The Russian star have already announced that he wanted to leave Sankt Petersburg.

However, we can expect another hot transfer window at Bernabeu, especially considering that some reports are suggesting that Frank Rijkaard could become Schuster’s successor. Too hot!
