It is more than clear that Florentino Perez has still not finished building Galacticos 2 as Real Madrid are trying to sign a number of players at the moment. They have been linked with Brazilian full-back Maicon for quite a while but they have finally made a move and started negotiations with Inter. Inter’s asking price is around €40 million, although Los Blancos would prefer to send a player or two in opposite direction and thus reduce the asking price.
The latest reports from Italy suggest that Real are close to signing Brazilian Maicon and Inter’s sporting director Branca has already traveled to Madrid in order to start the negotiations. It seems that Real Madrid have given up on Ibrahimovic and focused their attention solely on Maicon, who could be a very important player for Manuel Pellegrini’s side. According to reports, Inter want €40 million for the player but they are likely to accept €25 million plus one or two players. Mourinho is thought to be keen on Gonzalo Higuain, although Robben and Sneijder are also being mentioned. The deal will probably be completed very soon since Maicon has already expressed his desire to leave the club.
He is definitely one of the best full-backs in the World and will make Los Blancos even more dangerous in attack, although I am a bit worried for them since it looks as though nobody at the club is thinking about defence. Kaka and Ronaldo are obviously players who don’t help defence at all, whereas all other players being linked with Real have pretty much similar qualities. Therefore, the team will definitely have no problems in attack but people at Real tend to forget that attack in just one part of the beautiful game and that a team cannot possibly do well if they disregard the other two.
