The Portuguese coach has already made promise to Moratti that he is staying at Inter but Real Madrid is a big temptation as the Champions League trophy looks much closer from Madrid. Mourinho has asked Florentino Perez to give him seven days to think this trough, but Moratti is confident that the Special One will keep his word and stay at Inter.
After Arsene Wenger declined the offer to start creating Galacticos 2, Florentino Perez set his sights on Mourinho. The Portuguese coach is tied to Inter until 2011 but if he chooses to join Real, nobody will be able to stop him. Mourinho’s obsession is the Champions League title and considering the transfer kitty he would be given at Real, his chances of winning it would be much bigger than with Inter. The Portuguese is keeping quiet and usually well-informed Gazzetta dello Sport claims that he has asked seven days to make up his mind.
Massimo Moratti is adamant that Mourinho is staying. He is aware that Real is interested in his coach but he does not expect the transfer to go through. The relationship between Mourinho and Moratti was at an all time low after the team’s elimination from the Champions League but all the problems have been sorted out.
‘I have spoken to the coach few weeks ago. He said he wanted to stay and stated his plans for the transfer window. He proved that he was serious in the past and that he kept his word’, stated Moratti.
Transfer window has already started for Inter. They brought Millito and Motta from Genoa, as well as Austrian national team player Marko Arnautovic. Mourinho just wants one more defender and one younger midfielder and he will be more than happy. The reports are suggesting that Nemanja Vidic and Cesc Fabregas are the potential targets but they are unlikely to bring the aforementioned players as Arsenal and especially Manchester United do not want to hear about this.
