Ronaldo is a great man

Adem Ljajić returned from Manchester full of positive impressions. One of the biggest talents of Partizan’s youth academy and member of Under 21 and Under 19 national teams, didn’t need questions about his visit to one of the biggest clubs in the World.

‘I am thrilled with Manchester United, Old Trafford, Alex Ferguson, whom I had met the second day of my stay in England. This is a big experience for me, I saw how one of the biggest clubs in the World functions and I hope that seven-days-long stay in Manchester will be really helpful in my career’, stated Ljajić.

Not too many players get the chance to play alongside Vidić, Ronaldo, Rooney, Ferdinand…

‘I met the greatest stars of Manchester United, and they struck me as normal people and big professionals. A lot of people think that Ronaldo is an alien, but they are very wrong.

What are the things like on the pitch?

‘I have tremendous amount of respect for them, as these are the best players in the World, but I trained alongside them without fear. I trained normal, first with reserve players and players that didn’t play for the national team and then with the best players.

How does Old Trafford look from the pitch itself?

It is big, really big. I am impressed with the stadium.

Visit without souvenirs wouldn’t be a real visit?

I brought back some track suits, souvenirs; one does not go to Manchester every day. I had a stroll across town, got to know it, I visited a bog shopping moll and I am really delighted with what I had seen and experienced.

The stay in Manchester at the call of the champions of Europe does not necessarily make Manchester your next destination?

I don’t know how my career will look in the future, I am now turning to Partizan, and I have to thank my club for letting me come here straight from Northern Ireland, from the qualifying tournament. I also have to mention Budimir Vujačić, club’s scout, who stood by me all the time and helped me in everything I asked him for.

Adem Ljajić waited for Nemanja Vidić to return to Manchester after international duty.

I want to thank Nemanja for his hospitality, he made me feel really good during the small amount of time we spent together. I was the guest of his family for dinner, he gave me a lot of tips and told me a lot of things that will be useful in the future.
